Part-Time Teacher of Science - Chesham - Tuesday and Thursday

Overview

We are looking for an enthusiastic Science Teacher to work in our Chiltern Skills an Enterprise Centre AP school in Chesham on Tuesdays and Thursdays. We work with permanently excluded children and those at risk of exclusion, with a focus on nurture and creativity.

We offer Entry Level Certificate and GCSE Combined Science Award to our KS4 single-registered students. We also support our KS4 dual-registered students with the award offered by their referring school. We are proud of our aspirational Science curriculum which goes beyond that offered in many AP settings.

We are looking for a candidate who believe that young people who have been excluded from mainstream school need a nurturing and loving approach, need to feel valued and cared for, and need teachers who believe in them. We know this work is not always easy. We want to hire people who will always see the best in a young person, and find something to love in them, no matter what.

We have high expectations of our young people, in terms of their behaviour, social development, and academic achievement. We know that young people who have been excluded often have complex backgrounds, and/or a number of unmet special educational needs. When they receive the right support, they are capable of great things.
