To help students and parents/guardians, we have listed a few websites that might help when considering what options are available post 16.  You can also speak to the careers advisor for further advice.

Confident Futures Skills Show 2024
The registration for the Confident Futures Skills Show 2024, is now open! The Confident Futures Skills Show is a progression event that explores next steps and provides careers inspiration for students with SEND and other barriers. It breaks down obstacles and enables young people, their parents and carers, and jobseekers to explore the future with a range of employers, supported internship providers, next steps education and social care providers.

Tesco - Stronger Starts Retail Apprenticeship programme

Tesco have recently announced the launch of their new Stronger Starts Retail Apprenticeship programme, as part of their commitment to help young people achieve a stronger start in life. Stronger Starts is one of the few apprenticeship programmes that doesn’t require any qualifications or experience at entry requirements.

Join their exclusive webinar with the Early Careers team from Tesco to learn more about this programme, opening for applications in June 2024.

 Careers Leads

Tammy Nichols - Head of Careers

Tammy has a Post Graduate Degree in Careers Education and Guidance. Before joining Aspire she worked for Adviza as a Personal Adviser specialising in working with Teen Parents, eventually becoming a Team Leader. Having worked for Aspire for over 12 years, she has spent almost a decade of those as The Wycombe Grange’s Head of School, working with vulnerable secondary school aged children and championing their cause. Moving into the Head of Careers role this year, Tammy is dedicated to using her considerable knowledge to improve outcomes for the most disadvantaged young people in our care.

Tracey McNicholas - Destinations and Careers Advisor

Tracey has worked for Aspire for a considerable time as our Destinations and Careers Adviser, helping our young people progress onto the next stage of their journey. She takes great pride in helping our students take their next steps; whether that is by enrolling on a local college course, completing some work experience or seeking out an apprenticeship to help them develop.
