Exams

Where a student is enrolled at Aspire Schools and a mainstream school, we will establish which school is the most appropriate place to sit the exams.  This school will then be responsible for providing information about entries, timetables and certificates.

At Aspire Schools we focus on the core subjects of Maths, English, Science and Art to enable our young people to take their next steps with the qualifications they need.

Some students may also be entered for:

Please support your young person to make sure they know what exams they have been entered for and when they are taking place.  If you have any queries about the subjects, boards or timetable please contact our Data and Examinations Manager.

Functional Skills and Entry Level Exams

During the school year we hold exams weeks (November, January and March/April) and where appropriate we will support students to complete Pearson Entry Level and/or Functional Skills qualifications in Maths, English and Science.  Functional Skills can be a stepping stone to further education, offer an alternative to GCSE and are widely accepted by further education providers.

Certificates

Students will be contacted to arrange collection of their exam certificates once they have been received from the Exam Boards. Certificates from the Summer exam series usually arrive in November.

If you are unable to collect your certificates in person, you may authorise another person to collect them on your behalf.  This authorisation must be provided in writing.  Please email the Data and Examinations Manager with signed permission.

Please note that certificates cannot be released without written authorisation. This includes requests from parents, carers, or other relatives.

The school will retain certificates for 12 months after they are issued.  After this period, certificates will no longer be held on site.

If you are looking for exam certificates that are older than 12 months, please refer to the guidance available: Get a replacement exam certificate.
